HEY THERE BLUE LIAM.

Finally finalising my KU Foundation Flickr account, exciting to see it all come together and polished! The blog's feeling empty without my seasonal fashion week updates :( I have been super busy with preparing portfolio work for interviews, outfit and outing feedback shall resume in no time.

OH SIMON PREEN.

How I wish I had the money to afford one of your beautiful bodices, and a Lolita themed party lined up as an excuse. Ventured across these on the ASOS marketplace, under boutiques.

OBSESSION: INTRODUCTION.

Apologies for the poor phone camera quality.
A taster of the opening brainstorm page of my recent art study on obsession. The ink pen drawing illustrates one idea- of society's obsession with materialistic happiness, how our lives are now dictated by materialism and consumerism.
The matrix of lines coinciding with the illustration are sentences cut out from an old book, i've delved into the link between obsession and collection- much like the obsessive compulsive hoarding disorder. In my mind I envision symmetry and intricacy when I think of collectibles, another reason I presented this idea in this way.
Portfolio preparation has happily taken over my weekend, but with the end of study leave the chaos will begin all too soon again. I wish life was simple again, when my hair tie being too tight was my biggest issue.

CASE STUDY: OBSESSION.

In my latest artistic case study I plan to explore Obsession in psychological, visual and emotional depth. I've begun researching obsession- it's pivotal nature, as dipicted in literature and defined online, and whilst doing so i've discovered ample photographers who in their lifetimes became fixated on capturing every moment on film, whether it be of wives or children or of their surroundings. Here is my favourite, a photograph (untitled, 1960s- 80s) by Miroslav Tichý:
All of Tichý's photographs were taken by cameras he constructed himself, made from cardboard, paper and other materials which he went to great lengths to obtain; the result of this determination is beyond admirable, simultaneously making me more eager to try out the pinhole camera DIY kits i've accumulated from birthdays and Christmas.
Additionally, this photography by Alexander Rodchenko in the 30's, the master of severe angles:
-Simple says it all.
”I want to take some quite incredible photographs that have never been taken before… pictures which are simple and complex at the same time, which will amaze and overwhelm people. I must achieve this so that photography can begin to be considered a form of art.”

BOOGIE BOOGIE.

I'm back jack from the little festive hiatus I took (I say festive, I mean exams and university applications). A bit of an update then, the photograph is from Connie's 18th Jungle Boogie- which was in a Jungle Gym, snm really. Other than the tomfoolery of that night, I have been manic busy working on my Art Foundation portfolio. Once again I experienced that dysfunctional monthly twitch, where I panic about academic plans and paths for the future- it seems there isn't a limit to the amount of hyperventilating a girl can do. However, the prospect of one day having a piece of work hung up in a London gallery is more than enough to keep me motivated.
And that's Annie FB above, liking herself a bit of urban monkey.
